Difficult to convince drivers of any type of transport for a short intermission between the ongoing trip.
Understanding the problem🤔:
While having a trip from place A to place B, the user might have to stop in between for a short interval may be due to some work or personal reason(for groceries or ATM or personal pickups) but convincing the driver is irritating in such cases and often leads to short arguments, and it would be even more awkward when you can’t speak up the local language and needs to explain them by shouting out loud or using hand gestures.
Listening out from users:
I interviewed a few of my folks regarding this personal assumption of mine and what difficulty they faced.
-My target audience was close friends and family their ages ranging between 20–35.
My audience is familiar with apps such as uber, ola, and Rapido and are frequent users.
-The count of my audience was around 7.
-The medium was through a phone call.
Key findings:
-All 7/7 of my audience use traveling apps(such as uber, ola, Rapido) while traveling.
-7/7 users ask the drivers to wait around for some work and all of them face the same difficulty in convincing them.
-4/7 had arguments while convincing the drivers to wait around.
-7/7 search for personal stops which they might encounter while traveling and if they don’t find the relevant stop then they just have to accept that part.
-1/7 had a bad moment of his rider leaving him behind without completing the trip.
Aim to achieve:
-A user can select the number of stops he would be waiting in the ongoing journey.
A user can also add the time he would spend on that particular stop to calculate the total amount of time required for the journey.
-The rider can check the number of stops the user has to go through and the time required for each and then decide whether to accept the request accordingly.
-The charges can be added depending on the time required by the user and if he passes the threshold of the given time then extra charges can be added.
-If the user crosses the threshold time a notification will be sent to inform of further increasing amount of charges.
Interface:
-The following option can be provided after the user enters the destination address and if the user needs to stop by in-between.
-The user can add the number of stops for his ongoing journey.
-The duration required for the wait followed next.
-The user can proceed further if he/she knows the location of the required stops else the location can be added.
-The user over here can type the location he needs to stop by clicking at the pin symbol on the right side Or the user can just drag the pin symbol to his required location.
What further can be added?
- The pickup stop can be also used to pick up the users on a single journey.
- The user who books the cab needs to specify the number of people the driver needs to pick up and the location of each user.
